This is probably the most attractive and typical district of Iquitos. To adapt the important river floods, this slum was built on rafts and weaved creepers, in precarious huts and habitations. During the dry season, it stands on a muddy soil and during the rainy season, it floats following the river’s rhythm. An entire market has been organized there and they pass from a hut to another to sell their products. It is very frequented and typical; this is the place of fishermen, artisans, merchants and unemployed people. It is a colorful, agitated, and noisy market.
